"Dutch" Wright, 75, of Confluence died Dec. 11, 2000 at his home. Born April 11, 1925 in Puritan, Pa. A son of the late John F. and Helen M. (Brownfield) Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Mary Alice Wright, Myrtle McKenzie and Doris Ford. He is survived by his wife, of 51 years Loretta (Fisher) Wright and four daughters, Virginia M. Matthews of Laytonsville, Md., Alice J. Fye of Richmond, Va., Patricia F. Whetsell, Addison, and Janet S. Wright, Rockville, Md. Fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also three sisters Margaret Hawkins of Indianapolis, Ind., Betty Berkshire, Massillon, Ohio, and Gladys Gilleland of Lascassas, Tenn. He retired from the Capitol Transit System of Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Youghiogheny Dam. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Member of Ursina American Legion Post 946 and the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until noon Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating. Interment, Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
