WRIGHT Funeral services for William J. Wright, 85, retired farmer, who died about midnight Tuesday, December 16, at his home, were held at the Lutheran church, Friday afternoon, with Rev. George Bowersox, pastor, officiating. The pall bearers were Milton Rodamer, Harvey Gortner, Adam Hanft, Daniel Klotz, George Deifenbach and Louis Klotz. Interment in the Grantsville Cemetery. Mr. Wright suffered a stroke in July, 1946, and has been in declining health since that time. He was born October 16, 1862, in Preston County, W.Va., the son of the late Vachel and Ellen (Ryland) Wright. He resided on a farm near State Line in Addison Township before coming to Grantsville 35 years ago. He was a member of the Grantsville Lutheran Church, and was a highly respected citizen of the Grantsville community. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elmira (Ringer) Wright; a son, Ira E. Wright, Uniontown, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. John (Samantha) Hetrick, Cove; a brother, Samuel Wright, Brandonville, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Two grandsons are in the U.S. Army: S-Sgt Fay Wright stationed in New Hampshire, and Corp. Max Wright, in Japan. Meyersdale Republican, December 25, 1947
