  WYAND
  
  Kathryn N. Wyand, 94, of Berlin, formerly of Stoystown, died Feb. 25,
  1989, at Maple Mountain Manor.  Born March 12, 1894, in Somerset
  County, daughter of Fred and Mary (Leppert) Shaffer.  Preceded in
  death by her parents; husband, George, 6 sisters and a brother. 
  Survived by son, Galen Benning, married to the former Jean Jacobsen,
  of Hemet, Calif.; a granddaughter, Connie Lepper; nephew, DeSales
  Miller, Dunbar; and Elwood Emerick, Glencoe.  Former teacher in
  Bedford and Somerset counties.  Member of Graef Lutheran Church,
  Cairnbrook, and later attended Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown. 
  Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Monday at
  Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 10 a.m.
  Tuesday, the Rev. Walter J. Emswiler officiating.  Interment Mt. Zion
  Cemetery.
