(Bertie) (Weaver) 07/10/06 Daily American Alberta R. "Bertie" (Weaver) Bittner-Wylie, 83, Jennerstown, devoted mother, aunt and grandmother, died July 7, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Jenner Township, daughter of Judson C. and Charlotte (Georg) Weaver. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Harold A. Bittner, on Nov. 14, 1944; second husband, Raymond L. Wylie, on Sept. 9, 1999; great-grandson, Christian Alexander Corneilson; brother, Allen J. Weaver; and sister, Allegra R. Farsht. Survived by daughters, Bertie L. "Lindy," married to Fred Dipre, Jennerstown; Joanna M., married to Leo McGuire, Gettysburg; and Charlotte L. Wylie, Jennerstown; grand-children, David A. Dipre, Deanna M. Corneilson, Danielle L. Dipre and Dawn R. Giles; six of the cutest great-grandchildren; sister, Althea R. Nichol, Somerset; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. A 1941 graduate of former Boswell High School. Past employee of former Dorfman and Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell, and Somerset Manufacturing. A beautician for 25 years. Owner and operator of the former Ranch Motel in Ferrellton. A member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Boswell; the Knotty Women of the Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown; and ILGWU. Volunteered her time and talents at North Star Elementary School for many years. She was an avid gardener and a friend to every bird and gray squirrel in Pennsylvania - not so fond of chipmunks and bunnies. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Dr. R. Bruce Maxwell officiating. Interment, Lutheran Cemetery, Jennerstown. Donations in Bertie's memory may be given to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 327 Allegheny St., Boswell, PA. 15531. Flower deliveries should be sent to the church between 9 and 10 a.m. Saturday. Arrangements by Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Boswell.
