Yaist, 74, formerly of Meyersdale, died Nov. 5, in Youngstown, Ohio, where he had been residing. Born in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Charles and Bertha (Housel) Yaist. Mr. Yaist was a retired stationary engineer for the Youngstown Steel and Pipe Co. A member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and the IOOF in Youngstown, he was also a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Clark) Yaist; a daughter. Miss Elizabeth Yaist, at home; a brother, Clay, Youngstown; and a sister, Mrs. Ray Valiquette, Seattle, Wash. Funeral Service was held at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, on Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Charles E. Staub officiating. Interment was made in White Oak Cemetery.
