Yantus, 79, Central City, went to be with the Lord May 1, 2005. Born May 26, 1925, in Central City, a son of Joseph and Mary (Donley) Yantus. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Joseph, Michael and John; sisters, Mary Furmanchik, Ann Marfizo and Mildred Rusnak. Survived by loving wife, the former Helen Turko with whom he shared 58 years of marriage; children: JoAnn, at home; Stephen Jr. and his wife, Cindi, Stoystown; Michael, married to the former Kimberly Clemenson, Central City; and Diane, Burke, Va.; grandchildren: Sherri, wife of Dan Colins; Stephanie, Stephen III, Jason and Jarrett. Steve's first great-grandchild is due in June. Also survived by sister, Irene, wife of Albert Valen, California; sisters-in-law, Marge Yantus and Ann Turko and a number of nieces and nephews. Co-owner of the former Yantus & Zubek Coal Co. and founders of the Yantus Coal Co. A life long member of the former St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. Steve enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Friends will be received 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mulcahy Funeral Home, where wake service will be held Tuesday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Chapel. The Rev. Father Joseph Maurizio officiating. Committal service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make contributions to Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Steve's memory.
