Yeager, 72, Fort Hill, died Jan. 29, 2002, at Somerset Hospital. Born Feb. 23, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Charles W. and Edna E. (Armel) Yeager. In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his wife Mary L. Zimmerman) Yeager; an infant daughter Gloria Jean; brother Gerald; and sister Mary Ellen Walker. Survived by a daughter, Barbara Runkle of Fort Hill, and a son, Charles W. Yeager of Addison; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy of Dover, and William of York; and sisters Nellie Erb of Latrobe and Patricia Smith of Sykesville, Md. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. A member of Union Local 542 Operating Engineers of Philadelphia for over 40 years. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hour of service Saturday, at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Rev. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating.
