Yeager Sr., 71, of Confluence died May 3, 1996, at his home. Born Aug. 24, 1924, in Mount Pleasant. A son of the late Charles W. and Edna E. (Armel) Yeager. He is survived by his wife, the former Jessica L. Younkin; a son, Gerald Jr. of Fort Hill; daughters: Karlyne Sage, Confluence; Marsha Mixter of Baltimore, Md., and Diana Sterner of Confluence; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Charles F. of Addison, Roy H. of Dover, and William E. of York, and two sisters, Nellie Erb of Latrobe and Patricia Smith of Sykesville, Md. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. A member of Confluence VFW Post 7250 and American Legion Post 256 of Parkton, Md. Also a member of Operating Engineers Local 37 of Baltimore, Md. Friends are being received at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence today from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service, Rev. A. Merl Calkins officiating. Interment, Jersey Cemetery.
