Yoder, 88, Petersburg Drive, Friedens, died Sept. 6, 2008, at home. Born Dec. 14, 1919, in Stonycreek Township, the son of Samuel and Lulu Belle (Fritz) Yoder. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Dorothy Leazier; son, Samuel; grandson, Ronald Kimmel; infant brothers, Eugene and Robert; and sisters, Mabel Berkebile, Blanche Knepper, Elsie Barron, Violet Shockey and Gladys Walker. Survived by children, Mary Lou, married to Thomas Ansell, Vermilion, Ohio; Elwood, and wife, Sherry, and Carol, married to Elwood Kimmel, all of Berlin; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- granddaughters. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired coal miner and dairy farmer. Member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shanksville, and Shanksville American Legion Post 911. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shanksville. The Rev. Robert J. Way officiating. Interment, Mizpah Cemetery.
