YODER September 4, 1919 - October 29, 2003 Crist H. Yoder, 84, of Grantsville, Md., died Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born in Grantsville, September 4, 1919, he was the son of the late Ezra and Savilla (Beachy) Yoder. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Rufus and Irvin; two sisters: Anna and Elizabeth; his stepmother, Amanda Yoder and two granddaughters: Kathy and Kerri Ann Yoder. Mr. Yoder accepted Christ in his youth. He was a member of Mountain View Mennonite Church and he enjoyed music. He was a retired farmer and also had an egg and meat route in Cumberland, Md. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Rhoda (Schrock) Yoder; three sons: Paul and wife Dorothy, Salisbury; David and wife Esther, Grantsville; Mark and wife Debbie, Felton; six daughters: Lois Yoder and husband John, Jr., Orrvllle, Ohio; Dorcas Macinta and husband Pete, Cambridge, Md.; Ruth, Grantsville; Naomi Showalter and husband Ernest, Waynesboro, Va.; Anna Moser and husband, Beryl, Grantsville; Rachel Brenneman and husband Bill, West Jefferson, Ohio; four sisters: Sarah Yoder, Chesapeake, Va.; Elsie Schrock, Grantsville; Frieda Yoder, Mt. Joy; Pauline Schrock, Fairfax, Va.; two brothers: Cloyd, Meyersdale; Floyd, Bittinger, Md.; 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by many. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Friday. Services were conducted at Mountain View Mennonite Church, Salisbury, on Saturday with the Rev. Jerry Yoder and the Rev. Simon N. Schrock officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
