Born June 2, 1926, in Defiance, Ohio, he is a son of the late Bert and Sue (Bontrager) Yoder. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma (Miller) Yoder; one daughter, Cynthia; one granddaughter, Marcie Ann Deal and one sister, Rhoda Yoder. Mr. Yoder is survived by his wife, Esther (Beachy) Yoder; one son, Dennis Yoder and wife, Mona Lee, Meyersdale; two daughters, Ardith Deal and husband, Terry, Salisbury; Bernice Garlitz and husband, David, Grantsville; one brother, Clayton Yoder, Springs; four sisters, Ruth Yoder, Grantsville; Irene Maust and husband, Jonas, Walnut Creek, Ohio; Martha Yoder and husband, Norman, Grantsville; Mary Miller and husband, Ivan, Greenwood, Del.; and four grandchildren, Mike, Kristi and Megan Garlitz and Katie Deal. Mr. Yoder was a member of Cherry Glade Mennonite Church, where he served in various church activities and committees and was currently president of the Cherry Glade Medical Sharing Plan. He had been employed for 25 years as a meat cutter and manager of the meat case department at Yoder Locker Plant. He retired from Goodwill Mennonite Home as head of maintenance. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. Service will be conducted on 10 a.m. Friday at Cherry Glade Mennonite Church. The Rev. Barry Maust, the Rev. Ivan J. Maust and the Rev. Joe Byler officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oak Dale Cemetery, Salisbury.
