YODER,  Gene Davis  (Curly)  

Gene Davis "Curly" Yoder Sr., 88, Friedens, died June 2, 2007, at Somerset 
Hospital. Born July 5, 1918, in Somerset. Preceded in death by parents; wife the 
former Dorothy E. Rayman; brother, Robert Yoder; and sister, Jolene Smith. 
Survived by children, Diane E., married to Albert Hoop, Westwood, Calif., and 
Gene Davis "Dave" Yoder Jr., married to the former Debra S. Swank, Friedens; 
grandchildren, Amy Lynn Malijen, Wesley Morgan Christner and Tamara Ann Yoder; 
seven great- grandchildren, and a loving friend, Cindy Lensbouer, Friedens. He 
was a graduate of Somerset Township High School, and former owner operator of 
Yoder's Auto Body, Friedens. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church and Stoystown 
Lions Club. Charter member of Friedens Fire Co. and longtime fire chief. He 
enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and boating. Family will receive friends from 
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 2 p.m. until service at 3 p.m. 
Wednesday, at Friedens Lutheran Church. The Rev. Edward V. DeVore officiating. 
Interment, church cemetery. A Lions service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at 
the church. Arrangements by Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.
