Pleasant. Harold was born in Somerset on June 10, 1907, a son of the late Frank and Ella Yoder. He married the former Mabel M. Horner on Sept. 18, 1928. Harold was a dedicated family man and a retired employee with the former Bell Telephone Company of Pa. He worked as a troubleshooter in Bell Telephone's Test Center, retiring on July 1, 1969 with 40 years and 3 months service. He also served as a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America's Evergreen Council. Harold was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church, Scottdale and the United Methodist Men. In 1953, he helped organize the local Church Dartball League where he enjoyed tossing darts for many years. Harold also enjoyed gardening, crafts, and embroidery. Following World War I, he served with the Conservation Corps Company C in the Somerset area. Harold is survived by his loving family, his wife of 72 years, Mabel M. Horner Yoder; a daughter, Carol Hough of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son Donald R. Yoder and wife Jane Scottdale RD 1; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Anna Mary Cunningham Yoder of Scottdale RD 1; two sisters, Thelma Bowers and Frances Bruner, both of Somerset; a brother, Elwood Yoder and wife Rosie of Rockwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. in addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a son, Edward H. Yoder on Nov. 30, 1996; a son-in-law, James Hough on April 9, 1997; six sisters, Isabelle Pritts, Magdalene Coddington, Julia Miller, Louella Yoder, Gladys Pritts, and infant, Carrie Yoder; and eight brothers, Edward, Henry. Richard, Oran, Irvin, Leroy, Freeman, and Wilbur Yoder. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale.
