He became ill while at his work in a coal mine and died on his way out of the mine. He was the son of the late Simon M. and Catherine Miller Yoder of near Grantsville. Surviving are his wife, Ruth (Detrich) Yoder, one small daughter, Marcia Joyce, at home; two sisters, (Vernie M.) Mrs. Enos Maust, Meyersdale, Pa., and (Naomi C.) Mrs. Simon D. Tice, Harrisonburg, Va., and five brothers, Earl R., Portsmouth, Va.; Owen H., Berlin, Pa.; Alva R. on the home farm near Grantsville; and Homer M., and Ivan M., Springs, Pa. Funeral services were conducted at the Bittinger Lutheran Church of which Mr. Yoder was a member. Rev. A. C. Curran, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. M. B. Miller. Hymns were sung by a mixed chorus from the Springs Mennonite Church. Interment was in the Bittinger Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were his six cousins, Alvin J. Yoder, Olin H. Yoder, Irvin E. Yoder, Henry E. Yoder, Alvin H. Yoder and Evan J. Yoder. Relatives attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Owen H. Yoder, Berlin, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Tice and daughters, Alva and Catherine, Harrisonburg, Va.; Clifford, Delbert, Ralph, and Raymond Detrich, Beallsville, Pa.; Webster Detrich, Richeyville, Pa.; Arthur Detrich, Granville, Pa.; Elmer Detrich, West Leisenring, Pa.; Misses Grace and Miriam Detrich, Cumberland.
