His death was caused by heart disease, from which he suffered at intervals for several years, but was confined to his bed only a short time immediately preceding his death. He was a son of the late John and Dorothy Hanft Yommer, and was twice married. His first wife before her marriage was Miss Annie Speicher, a native of Garrett County, Md., who died more than twenty years ago. His second wife was Miss Alice Butler before her marriage, also a native of Garrett County, Md. Mr. Yommer was a resident of Salisbury for more than 20 years, and the highest tribute that can be paid him is that he was a good citizen, at peace with all the world, and one who could always be relied upon "to do and to be the best that was in him to do and to be." He was a devout and faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a kind and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his second wife and these children: Beuhla of Wheeling, W.Va.; Bessie of Canton, Ohio; Harrison of Garrett County, Md., all children by his first wife; and Hester of Grantsville, Md., and Sarah at home, children of his second marriage. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Richard Younkin of Grantsville, Md.; Mrs. Robert Himmler of Trafford City, Pa., and Mrs. Minnie Daniels of Spring Gap, Md. The funeral services were held in St. John's Lutheran Church last Saturday, conducted by his pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler, assisted by Rev. A. M. Wright. Interment was in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, local mortician. Meyersdale Republican, June 12, 1941
