Yommer, 89, of 10827 National Pike, Grantsville, Md., died Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born Feb. 22, 1910, in Somerset County, he was a son of the late Henry and Annie (Handwerk) Yommer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda (Hershberger) Yommer, Dec. 20, 1979, a brother, Alvin and two sisters, Alta Bowman and Edith Yommer. He was member of Springs Mennonite Church. He was a retired laborer for Country. Bell and Hagan Creameries, Grantsville, a janitor for Casselman Motor Co. and also a farmer. Survivors include a son, C. Edward Yommer and wife, Viola, Accident, Md., a sister, Beulah Saler, Berlin, 2 granddaughters, Karen M. Palmer and husband, Monte and Sheri L. Yommer-Sechler and husband, Scott and a great grandson, Christian Sechler. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, P.A., Grantsville, Md. from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday. Services will be conducted on at 2 p.m., Friday in the Springs Mennonite Church, Springs, with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
