He was up around as usual for several hours, then told his wife he would lie down for awhile and she should call his son, Paul, from Grantsville. Mrs. Yommer finished her morning work then called her husband who was still lying down. When he didn't answer, she thought he was sleeping and tried to waken him but found that he had quietly passed away while she was busy with her morning chores. Frederick Yommer was the son of the late Louis and Mary Jane (Otto) Yommer. He was born at Jennings, March 23, 1901. He was married to Miss Jean Palmer of Jennings, April 3, 1920. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Paul and Henry, of Grantsville, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Blocher, Rapid City, S.D., and Miss Ruth Yommer, a cadet nurse in Allegany Hospital, Cumberland; two brothers, Dewey L. Yommer, Grantsville and Bruce Yommer, Jennings and two sisters, Mrs. George Newman, Salisbury, and Miss Rose Yommer, and four grandchildren. Mr. Yommer was in ill health since 1942. He worked on the B. & O. Railroad for several years. He was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Grantsville. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced but the obsequies will probably take place Thursday afternoon. Meyersdale Republican, July 11, 1946
