Born Dec. 5, 1925, in Jennings, Md., he was a son of the late Frederick Emmons and Joanne (Palmer) Yommer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Lumas Yommer, and a sister, Virginia Elizabeth Blocker. Member of Addison United Methodist Church. He was a dragline operator for Harbison-Walker Refractories, Grantsville, Md., having retired after 32 years of service. Also member of United Steelworkers Local 14404. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Edith Mae (Bowser) Yommer, whom he married Dec. 24, 1947; 2 sons, Dale and wife Fran, Somerset, and James and wife Brenda, Friedens; 3 daughters: Sharon Mason and husband Rick, Carol Collins and husband Sam and Kathleen Nogroski and husband Kevin, all. of Addison; a sister, Sara Ruth Weaver, Cumberland, Md.; also 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Homes, PA., Grantsville, Md., where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Del Wasser officiating.
