Young, 96, of Somerset, died April 14, 2001 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home in Johnstown. Born April 16, 1904 in Somerset, daughter of the late William S. and Mary (Berkley) Braucher. Also preceded in death by husband Calvin P. Young, sisters Elizabeth Heckler and Nell Weimer and brothers Ward, Elias and W. Dwight Braucher. Survived by sister-in-law Ruth B. Braucher of Somerset and several nieces and nephews. Charter member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren where she was secretary of the C.I.A. Class and a Sunday school teacher. Charter member of the Somerset Registered Nurses Inc. and a 50 year member of Trinity Chapter 138 O.E.S. Graduated as a registered nurse at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in 1928. Worked as a registered nurse at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital and as a private duty nurse in Somerset. Friends received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset where services will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Mark Bendes and Rev. Roger L. Forry officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
