Young, 70, Shanksville, died June 16, 1988, at home. Born Jan. 23, 1918, in Somerset Township, son of the late John and Anna (Stutzman) Young. Preceded in death by brothers, Leroy and Carl;, sister, Gladys Stanley;, grandson, Michael Young; and son-in-law, Robert Lauer. Survived by wife of 46 years, the former Marion Wilson and these children: Mrs. Carolyn Lauer, Somerset; Ronald, married to Gloria Jean Rhodes, Stoystown RD 3; John, Cannonsburg; and Carl at home; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Retired bricklayer. Member of Bricklayers Union, Johnstown. Army veteran of World War II, served with the 181 Engineers in European Theater of Operations. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Robert Slack officiating.
