Younkin, 87, of Somerset RD 2, (Virgil O. Pyle residence) died Sept. 18, 1978 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Jan. 9, 1891 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, son of the late Henry and Rachel (McClintock) Younkin. Preceded in death by one son, Guy; six sisters; four brothers; and two grandsons. Survived by his wife, the former Venie Dumbauld, to whom he was married for 68 years, and the following children: Mrs. John (Hazel) Barclay of Somerset; Mrs. George (Roberta) Glessner of Somerset RD 7; Ralph W. of Somerset RD 4; Mrs. Virgil O. (Dorothy) Pyle of Somerset RD 2; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Member of the New Centerville Church of God. A farmer by occupation, also a former Somerset State Hospital employee. Member of Milford Grange No. 1744. Friends are being received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home until noon Thursday when his remains will be removed to the New Centerville Church of God to lie in state until time of service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Tobias officiating.
