Younkin, 88, of White Star Residence, Jennerstown, formerly of Boswell RD, died Oct. 31, 1998 at Somerset Hospital. Born Oct. 22, 1910 in Johnstown, son of David F. and Margaret (Krissinger) Younkin. Preceded in death by parents, wife Theresa F. Miltenberger on July 9, 1992 and brothers, Frank and John R. Survived by these children: C. Arthur, married to the former Carol Moore of Stoystown RD; Marian E., wife of John M. Messek Jr. of Essex, Conn., and Norma J. Younkin of Eugene, Ore.; grandson, Drew Younkin of Stoystown RD; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Younkin of Hollsopple RD and Lillian Younkin of Jamestown, N.Y.; also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church since moving to Jennerstown. Also a former lifelong member of Centennial United Methodist Church, Johnstown RD, where he was a member of the choir and a Sunday School teacher. Charter member of the Johnstown Chapter of the Barbershop Quartet Society. Former instrument repairman for U.S. Steel, Johnstown Works for many years. Avid model railroad enthusiast. A 1927 graduate of Johnstown High School. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jennerstown United Methodist Church. Rev. John R. Guerre officiating. Interment, 100F Cemetery, Berlin.
