Funeral services were conducted at the Picking Funeral Home, Somerset Street, at 1 o'clock (E.S.T.) Thursday afternoon by Rev. C. W. Raley, pastor of the Centennial Evangelical Church. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Berlin. Born in Meyersdale in 1874, David Younkin was one of eleven children. He was engaged in civil and mining engineering in this vicinity until 1904, when he entered the employ of the Lorain Steel Company engineering department. He was a member of the Veteran Employe Association. His wife, Mrs. Margaretta (Krissinger) Younkin, died in 1935. Surviving are three sons - John R. and Charles E., Somerset Pike, and Frank W., Greensburg. He also leaves three brothers - Roy E., Erie; Henry C., Meyersdale, and Charles H., Norfolk, Va., and one sister, Mrs. C. W. Fernsner, Washington, D.C. Five grandchildren also survive.
