YOUNKIN Mrs. Delilah Bittinger Younkin, wife of Thomas E. Younkin of Grantsville, Md., died at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 8, just five days short of her 67th birthday. Mrs. Younkin had been ill for about a year. She was born in Garrett County, Md., on February 13, 1883, a daughter of Chauncey and Christina (Bowman) Bittinger. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons - Harry, Walter and Clarence Younkin, all of Grantsville; two daughters - Mrs. Ruth Miller of Donora, Pa., and Miss Mary E. Younkin, Grantsville; two brothers - C. D. Bittinger, Dravosburg, Pa., and L. C. Bittinger, Oakland, Md., and by eight grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in the Grantsville Lutheran Church of which she was a member, by her pastor, the Rev. George E. Bowersox Jr., at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11. Interment was made in Grantsville Union Cemetery in charge of Salisbury mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, February 17, 1949
