Younkin, 56, of 820 McKee St., State College, died at Center Community Hospital Nov. 4, 1980. He was born March 17, 1929 in Rockwood, son of James C. and Glenavey (Weigand) Younkin. He is survived by wife, the former Frances Bender of State College; mother, West Bradenton, Fla.; son, Bruce A. Younkin; daughter, Jeanne Younkin, both of State College; two grandchildren; one brother, James C. Younkin, and one sister, Mrs. Harvey G. Stickle, both of Mentor, Ohio. He was a 1951 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and received a master of science degree in 1953 in animal husbandry. He was employed by Penn State as a professor of animal science and extension livestock specialist. He served in the Army Air Force in World War II. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, State College, where funeral services were held with the Dr. Robert D. Hershey officiating. A graveside service and burial was held at Friedens Lutheran Cemetery conducted by the Rev. James R. Ling. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. The Republic, November 13, 1980
