Younkin, 80, of Markleton RD 1, died Oct. 1, 1984, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1903, in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, a son of the late Wesley and Mary (Ohler) Younkin. Preceded in death by his wife, Mahala (King) Younkin. He is survived by the following children: Charles of Connellsville; Sara May of Sipesville; Martha Knopsnyder, Mary Jane Pugh and Melvin R., all of Somerset; Ruth Tressler and Paul of Markleton; Robert of Mt. Pleasant; and Shirley Gonzales of Confluence; also, 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters: Elizabeth Pyle, Sara Sanner and Joseph Pyle, all of Rockwood. Friends will be received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, after 2 p.m. Wednesday (today) where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Show officiating.
