He was born March 19, 1919, in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, a son of Jacob Harrison and Sarah (Ohler) Younkin. He is preceded in death by parents; wife, Annabelle (Mitchell) Younkin; infant son, James Richard; brother, Lester; and sisters, Ida Metheney, Josephine Mitchell-Nicholson and Elvie Clevenger. He is survived by daughters, Olive Clark, Somerset; Etta Kay Walker and husband, Clinton Jay, Rockwood; Patricia Gail Schwalm and husband, Mike, Dauphin; grandchildren, Melody Simmons; James Clark and wife, Kelly; Edward Clark and wife, Michele; Kelly Huzsek and husband, Mike; Melissa Walker; Kimberly Hay and husband, Brian; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great- grandchildren; and three sisters-in- law, Bertha Jane Garlick, Grace Flynn and Martha Flynn. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and was an avid hunter and enjoyed garden-ing. He worked as a farmer all of his life. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the hour of service, at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. The Rev. Chad A. Harvey officiating.
