YOUNKIN Mahala Elizabeth Younkin, 76, Markleton RD 1, died June 5, 1981, at home, She was born Jan. 28, 1905, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Martha (Firestone) King. She is survived by her husband, James A., and the following children: Charles, Connellsville; Sara May: Sipesville; Martha Knopsnyder, Somerset; Ruth Tressler, Markleton; Mary Jane Pugh, Somerset; Melvin R., Somerset; Robert, Rockwood; Paul, Markleton; and Shirley Gonzales, Confluence; 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Melvin King, Ray King and Warren King, all of Markleton; and James King, North Carolina; also 7 sisters; Alice Miller, Somerset; Ruth Trimpey, Freida Metheney, Mary Trimpey and Betty Baker, all of Markleton; Olive Woods, Confluence; and Lola Convay, Ohio. Friends were received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services were held with the Rev. Paul Tobias officiating. Interment, Old Bethel cemetery. The Republic, June 4, 1981
