  Nelda R. Younkin, 73, of 811 East Broadway Avenue, Rockwood, died Nov. 6,
  1989. She was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Rockwood, daughter of the late J. Roscoe
  and Daisy L. (Growall) Shanks. She was a life-long resident of Rockwood, where
  she served as borough secretary for 26 years before retiring in September of
  1989. Member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rockwood. Charter member of
  Rockwood Women's Club. Survivors include one son, Donald R. Younkin, Garrett
  RD 1, and two daughters, Luanne Pritts, Rockwood RD 2, and Linda M. Rager, at
  home. Also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Doris) Souser, Monument,
  Colo., and Mrs. Judy Randolph, Manteca, Calif., and one brother, Jack L.
  Shanks, Glenn Ellyn, Ill. Also survived by six grandchildren. Preceded in
  death by husband, James D. Younkin, who died in 1973, and a brother, James
  Shanks. Friends will be received at the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Francis
  Brady supervisor, Rockwood, from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Wednesday. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church,
  Rockwood, with the Rev. Susan Winger officiating. Interment, I.0.0.F.
  Cemetery, Rockwood.
