YOUNKIN, Rex A. 

Rex A. Younkin, 45, Rockwood, passed on July 14, 2008. Born Oct. 25, 1962, in 
Meyersdale, he is the son of the late Lester and Iretha (Cameron) Younkin. He is 
also preceded in death by his brother, James Younkin. He is survived by his 
wife, Dawn (Allison) Younkin, Oklahoma; daughters, Tashia, Germantown, Md.; 
Amber, Greely, Colo.; and Paige, Rockwood; grandson, Landon Jon Karnick; 
sisters, Betty McClintock and husband, Sidney, Confluence; and Frances Diane 
Kuna and husband, John, Somerset; brother, Charles Younkin and wife, Doris, 
Confluence; special friend of many years, Roxann Garrety, Rockwood; and several 
nieces and nephews. He was a 1981 graduate of Turkeyfoot High School where he 
was a standout athlete in football, basketball and baseball. He was an avid 
hunter and fisherman and was fond of stock car racing. A memorial service will 
be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United Community Church of Confluence in 
Ursina, the Rev. Dean Hay Jr. officiating. Interment at Jersey Hollow Cemetery.
