Younkin, 72, of Addison, died Dec. 1, 2000, at home. He was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Honesdale, a son of the late Frank G. and Hazel (Tressler) Younkin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert N. Younkin. He is survived by his wife, Eugenia (Hill) Younkin; daughters Marlene Pletcher of Rockwood, Charlene Eller of Friedens and Lisa Fike of Tampa, Fla.; son William R. Younkin Jr. of Addison; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jeff Younkin and Cenneth Younkin, both of Rockwood; and two sisters; Kathleen Wheaton Smith of Markleton and Dolly Kinsinger of Confluence. He was an employee of GTE for 35 years, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the board of directors of the Addison Cemetery Association. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, with the Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating. Interment, Addison Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to "In Touch" Hospice or the Addison United Methodist Church. Daily American, December 2, 2000
