Born in Salisbury, August 10, 1926, daughter of the late Henry Adam Schaefer and Fannie V. (Lohr) Schaefer. Preceded in death by husband, Leroy Yutzy and brothers; Donald Carney Schaefer and Charles Henry Schaefer. Survived by beloved children; Vonnie Bailey, Port Orange, Fla., Keith "Lonnie" Yutzy, Ormond Beach, Fla., and Lorrie Shipley and husband Bruce, Somerset. Adored grandchildren; Carrie Beth Seslow and husband Michael, Cranberry; Katie Ellen Shipley, Arlington, Va.; Emily Marie Shipley, Somerset; and first, sweet great-grandson, Logan Michael Seslow; special niece Carol (Yutzy) Weimer and husband, Barry; special great-niece Barbra (Ohler) Brocht and husband Bruce. Many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Graduated from Maryland School for the Deaf in 1942 where she served as supervisor of fourth-floor girls dorm. Attended college prep and graduated in 1944 as valedictorian of her class. Retired beautician, Lois was very active in her community of Garrett, serving as president and treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary 861, Garrett Chamber of Commerce, Homecoming Association, Garrett Fireman Auxiliary and Senior Citizens. Lois was an amazing woman beloved by many. Special thanks to Somerset Hospital staff, especially the Skilled Nursing Unit, who lovingly cared for her during the past six months. Memorial service to be held at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, Garrett, 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1. No viewing. Visitation at the Church will be 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in her name to the Skilled Nursing Unit of Somerset Hospital in care of Somerset Hospital Foundation, 225 South Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
