Zahar, 72, 305 Allegheny St., Boswell, died March 4, 1995, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin. Born Dec. 25, 1922, in Ralphton. Son of Justyn and Anna (Barchock) Zahar. Preceded in death by parents and brother, John. Survived by wife, the former Sarah L. Snowberger, and son Claude, married to Cynthia Sachs, Chambersburg. Brother of Catherine Saponsky, Niles, Ohio, and Edward, married to Mary Perry, Erie. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Boswell; Boswell Post 461, American Legion; Jenner Rod and Gun Club, and Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America. U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Retired resident inspector with the Pennsylvania General Services Authority. Would have observed 49th wedding anniversary March 29, 1995. Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where Wake Service was held Sunday evening, Rev.
