Born in Bradys Bend, July 25, 1909, son of Sam Dominick and Illona (Yakal) Zambini. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 60 years, the former Mary Palermini, 1991; daughter, Helen L. Gannon, 1980; son-in-law, Terry Gannon, 1981; and brothers, Sam, August and Emil Zambanini. Loving father to his sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr., married to Mary Lou (Arcurio), Angola, N.Y.; Samuel Sr., married to Gloria (Janakovic), with whom John resided; and Robert Sr., married to Sylvia (Harp), Boyertown. Also beloved by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Mary Blaz, Florence, Ky.; and Joseph Zambanini, married to Sue (Shaulis), Somerset Pike. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville, and the UMWA. Longtime area coal miner, having worked since age 13. Former secretary of the William Penn Association. Avid accordion player and was able to play up until his death. Had played with the D & D Ranchers and the Four J's. Resident of Jerome since 1922. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Friday afternoon (no visitation Thanksgiving Day).
