"Rudy" 11/08/07 DA Rudolph P. "Rudy" Zanoni, 80, Acosta, died Nov. 7, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 4, 1926, in Quecreek, the son of Frank and Mary (Scudero) Zanoni. Preceded in death by parents and brothers-in-law, Chester Smith and Albert Roose. Survived by wife of 56 years, the former Josephine A. Kozel; brothers, Melio Zanoni, married to the former Agnes Tims, and James Zanoni, sister, Joan Roose and sister-in-law, Rose Marie Smith, all of Acosta; also numerous nieces and nephews. A 1945 graduate of Somerset High School. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A retired coal miner, member of All Saints Catholic Parish, UMWA, Somerset Aerie 1801, FOE, Somerset Post 554, VFW, Somerset Post 181, American Legion and the Jenner Rod & Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at All Saints Chapel, Acosta. The Rev. Father Karl Kolodziejski, celebrant. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.
