Born Oct. 3, 1910, in Somerset Township, son of Ross and Martha (Rayman) Zarefoss. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Alverna Louella Burk, who died May 25, 1996; parents; two sons: James D. and Eldon D. Zarefoss; brother, Harry Zarefoss. Survived by these children: Mrs. Violet Jean Bosley, Greensburg; Mrs. Robert E. (Alice) Bosley, Jeanette; Mrs. Charlotte E. Evans, Greensburg; Mrs. William J. (Shirley) Trent, Friedens RD 2; Calvin T. Zarefoss Jr., married to the former Bessie Weyand, Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Burton L. (Lois) Holt, Somerset RD 7; 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Grace Mostoller, Friedens RD 2. Retired coal miner for Cambria Fuel Company and Burk Mines, and truck driver for Leonard Mostoller and had helped build the turnpike tunnels. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, with Bishop Irvin J. Knieriem officiating.
