  ZAREFOSS
  
    Robert Paul Zarefoss, 73, of Bel Air, Cumberland, Md., died Thursday, Dec. 23, 
  1993, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice, Cumberland, Md.  Born April 17, 1920 in 
  Stoystown, Pa. He was the son of Ethel M. (Custer) Zarefoss of Midloithian, Va., 
  and the late Robert E. Zarefoss. He was preceded in death by two brothers, 
  Franklin and Larry.  Mr. Zarefoss was a merchandiser for A&P Tea Co. in western 
  Maryland.  He was an Army veteran of WWII. He received the Purple Heart. 
  Graduate of Somerset Twp. High School; member of Cresaptown United Methodist 
  Church; volunteer with the Boy Scouts Troop #48, Frostburg, Md.; a safety 
  instructor with the NRA at Frostburg State University; member of the Welsh 
  Baptist Church, Frostburg, Md., where he had been a deacon in the church.  He 
  was an avid bowler and golfer.  Survivors are his wife, Sara M. (Beech) 
  Zarefoss; two sons, Donald E. Zarefoss and wife Carole, Frederick, Md., and 
  David L. Zarefoss and wife Elaine, Stephens City, Va.; one brother, James 
  Zarefoss and wife Lois, Midloithian, Va.; one sister, Evelyn Schrock and husband 
  Blair, Johnstown, Pa.; two grandchildren, Kurt A. Zarefoss, Brunswick, Md., and 
  Michael C. Zarefoss, Frederick, Md.  Friends will be received at Scarpelli 
  Funeral Home, Cresaptown, Md., on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Services will be 
  conducted at Scarpelli Funeral Home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. 
  McClay Jr. officiating.  The interment will be private in Sunset Memorial Park, 
  Cumberland, Md.  Family requests contributions to Cresaptown Fire & Rescue 
  Company or Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
