She had been ill for a long while. She is survived by a son, Roy Zehner, of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Marshall, of Grantsville; two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Frank Peterson of Rockford, Michigan. Mrs. Zehner spent her entire life in Grantsville. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Bonig, a worthy German couple who located in Grantsville before the Civil War and reared a fine family - five daughters and two sons - all now deceased except the youngest member, Mrs. Peterson. The deceased's sisters and brothers, besides Mrs. Zehner, were Rachel and Nettie, first and second wife, respectively, of the late Charles H. Bill; Mrs. Elizabeth Pope, Charles A. Bonig, for many years manager of Wells-Fargo Express office in Cumberland, and Henry Bonig, former Grantsville merchant. The father of the family conducted a general store in Grantsville for many years, and afterwards was a farmer. Mrs. Zehner was a lifelong member of the Grantsville Lutheran Church. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. D. Sigler, Wednesday afternoon, followed by interment in the Grantsville Cemetery. The funeral arrangements were in charge of William Winterberg, Grantsville mortician. Meyersdale Republican, August 26, 1943
