Born Sept. 25, 1927, in Irwin, son of the late Frederick F. Sr. and Hazel P. Beal Zeigler. Also preceded in death by a son, Robert Paul Zeigler, in 1981. Surviving are his wife, Delores Keightley Zeigler, and these children: Mrs. John (Karen) Powell of Sandy Lake, Pa.; Frederick F. Zeigler III and his wife Rhonda, Chalk Hill; Mrs. George (Jane) Henry of Girard, Ohio; Nancy Zeigler of Uniontown; William Zeigler of Allentown and Judy Naretto of Irwin; brother, Donald Zeigler, of Berlin and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Hockensmith of Hagerstown, Md. Member of Chalk Hill United Methodist Church. Received his bachelor of science degree from Slippery Rock University, his master's degree from California University of Pa. Retired drivers education teacher for 35 years where he created and developed the prototype program for school bus training course used throughout northeastern U.S. During his teaching career he taught at the Fayette County Vo-tech School, Uniontown High School, Salisbury High School and the Massanetta Military School in Virginia. Member of Uniontown School Board and the Fayette County Vo-tech School Board. He had been the choir director at Great Bethel Baptist Church. He also maintained a private driving school for 35 years, he was a veteran of the Korean War. Friends will be received in the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home, Hopwood, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and on Sunday until 1:30 p.m., the hour of the service. Rev. Terry Collins will officiate.
