Zeller, 85, of Grantsville, Md., died Sunday, Feb. 27 in Miners Hospital, Frostburg, where he had been a patient for several months. A native of Frostburg, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Zeller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Zeller. Mr. Zeller was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Grantsville, and for many years was superintendent of the Sunday school. He was the organizer of the Boy Scouts in Grantsville in 1920. He also organized and was past president of the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department in 1928, at which time he was serving as mayor. He served as a trial magistrate in Grantsville for a time. He was a member of the WOW Camp 41, Grantsville, and of Cumberland Aerie 245 FO Eagles. He is survived by a son, Robert Zeller of Cleveland, O., one sister, Helen Kelly of Frostburg and two grandchildren. Funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, the Rev. David Fetter officiating. Burial in Frostburg Memorial Park. Meyersdale Republican, March 3, 1966 [Z0084]
