Zerfoss, Sr., 75, of Friedens RD 1 (Listie) died Jan. 15, 1990, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born March 16, 1914, in Cairnbrook, son of Frank H. and Bessie (Roberts) Zerfoss. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Marian Fluck, and sister Bernice. Survived by these children: Mrs. David (B. J.) Kimmel of Bowie, Md.; Mrs. Eugene (Kay) Miller, Bossier City, La.; Bert Jr., married to the former Judy Saylor, Berlin RD 3; Mrs. Barry (Pam) O'Kinsky, Friedens RD 1; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. He was retired from Stores Electric Dept. of U.S. Steel Corp., Johnstown. Member of Stoystown Lions Club. Participated for 48 years with the Boy Scouts of America as scoutmaster of Troop 148, Listie; Quemahoning District and Penn's Woods Council member; recipient of Silver Beaver Award. Received the Pennsylvania Senatorial Award for Outstanding Contribution to Youth. Past superintendent and Sunday school teacher of Listie Brethren Church for 50 years. Member of Listie Volunteer Fire Co. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home Stoystown, where Lions Memorial Service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Viewing from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Listie Brethren Church, the Rev. Ronzil L. Jarvis officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
