"Fussy" Zerfoss, 77, of Stoystown, died Dec. 21, 2002 at his residence. Born Jan. 13, 1925 in Lavansville, a son of Charles A. and Melda L. (Stern) Zerfoss. Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Yoder and Patty Custer; two brothers, Glen "Bill" Zerfoss and Robert "Pete" Zerfoss; and stepfather Charles S. Phillipi. Survived by his wife Sara Luella Berkey to whom he was married 52 years; children, Wayne Zerfoss of Stoystown and Mrs. Curtis (Doris Elaine) Davison of Friedens; grandchildren,: Jennifer and Christopher Davison; and cat Sport. Brother of Betty Hager of East Liverpool, Ohio; Mary Garland of Westminster, Md.; Charles Zerfoss of Barnesville, Ohio; Nancy Rubright of Berlin; Clarence Zerfoss of Somerset; Sally Krepelka of Parma, Ohio; Susan Snyder of Berlin; and Jerry Zerfoss of Berlin. U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Member of VFW Post 7568 in Hooversville, American Legion Post 257 in Stoystown, New Baltimore Sportsman Club, FOE 1801 Somerset and The Old Timers Baseball Association. Retired in 1987 with 19 years service as truck driver for Solar Fuel Co. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, The Rev. Thomas J. Kroll and Rev.
