Zimmerman, aged 76, a former member of the Board of County Commissioners, dropped dead last Saturday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock on the street in Stoyestown. Although his health had been impaired for some time, Mr. Zimmerman was able to be about. He was stricken with a heart attack Saturday afternoon and was pronounced dead when he was removed to a physician's office. He was born near Berlin, April 29, 1855. For a number of years he was engaged in business in Berlin, moving to Stoyestown in 1890. Charles F. Zimmerman and Eliza Coleman, a daughter of Jacob and Mary (Musser) Coleman, of Berlin, were married January 23, 1876. After removing to Stoyestown, Mr. Zimmerman purchased a large farm about a mile and a half south of Stoyestown, where he resided until 1917, when he moved into town. He was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 1905, and served one term in that office. He was a director of the First National Bank of Stoyestown, and was engaged in raising livestock and farming during the greater part of his life. Surviving are his wife, and the following children: Mrs. Charles A. Lease, Mrs. William M. Rininger, Frank C., C. Herbert and Jacob P. Zimmerman, all of Stoyestown; Mrs. Walter B. Shaffer, of Somerset; S. H. Zimmerman, of Nanty-Glo, and Dr. George H. Zimmerman, of Bell Valley, Ohio. He was a brother of S. P. Zimmerman, of Berlin, and William P. Zimmerman, of Trenton, N.J. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in St. Paul's Reformed Church, Stoyestown, in charge of Rev. H. S. Logsdon, pastor. Meyersdale Republican, February 11, 1932
