Born in Hooversville. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Kathryn Sherbine Rodger. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Kitty Lee wife of The Rev. James E. Snavely of Bloomsburg, Connie Jane wife of David W. O'Dell of Lonoke, Ark., two grandchildren, Nathan husband of Jill Snavely, Laurie wife of Sean Splain, two great grandsons, Benjamin Snavely and Shay Splain. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kermit Rodger and a sister Hazel Roth. From 1974 to 1984 Jane worked as a secretary in the Business office for the Hempfield School District, previously she was a secretary for the Jenner Boswell Joint High School and earlier in her career she served as the Business Manager for the Forbes Joint High School located in Boswell. She was the wife of Fred B. Zimmerman and they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 20. A member of First Christian Church in Hooversville, Jane also attended Grace Brethren Church of Lititz. Jane was a member and a Past Matron of the Lititz Springs Chapter 499 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the 13 Star Auxiliary of the Hooversville V.F.W. An avid reader and writer, Jane wrote children stories and poems which were published. There will be a public viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the Buch Funeral Home with the Rev. James E. Snavely officiating. Interment will take place in the Patriotic Order Sons of America Cemetery Hooversville at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Please omit flowers.
