Zimmerman, 56, of Hooversville RD 1, died May 16, 1975 at his residence. Born Nov. 24, 1918, in Quemahoning Township, son of Jacob P. Zimmerman of Stoystown and the late Miriam Mostoller Zimmerman. Also preceded in death by a son, Jeffery. Survived by his widow, the former Elaine Smith, two sons, Jerry of New York and Capt. Christopher of the U.S. Army, Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a brother of Mrs. Calvin (Frances) Zufall, Mrs. Harold (Christine) Koontz, C. David, Mrs. Thomas M. (Joy) Zimmerman, Samuel H. and Thomas H., all of Stoystown; Mrs. William (Maxine) Pierce of Joliet, Ill.; and Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Pile of Friedens. Was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, where he served as an elder. Employed by Solar Fuel Co. prior to his illness. Member of the Stoystown Lions Club, Stoystown Lodge I.O.O.F., Junior OUAM, Laurel Lisa Bowling League, Middlecreek Golf Club and the Hooversville Volunteer Fire Co. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until noon Monday at the Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown to be lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until services at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Leonard F. Zecchini officiating, assisted by the Rev. Herbert G. Hohman. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown. Somerset American, May 17, 1975
