Zimmerman, 62, of Stoystown, died Feb. 22, 1990, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 21, 1927, in Quemahoning Township. Son of Jacob P. and Miriam (Mostoller) Zimmerman. Preceded in death by parents and brother, John. Survived by a wife of 41 years, the former Georgiana (Jan) Riddell, and these children: Jeffrey, of Stoystown; Mrs. David (Winifred) Ebersole, of Berlin, and Samuel H. II, married to the former Janalee Addleman, Friedens RD 1. Also survived by these grandchildren: LeAnn, Carly, Zachary, Katie, and Samuel H. Zimmerman III and Rustin and Kylee Ebersole. A brother of Frances Zufall; C. David, married to the former Joann Barnhart, and Mrs. Thomas M. (Joy) Zimmerman, all of Stoystown; Christine Koontz and Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Pile, both of Friedens; Mrs. William (Maxine) Pierce, of Joliet, Ill., and Rev Thomas H., married to the former Verdean Meyers of Rockwood RD 3. Was a brother-in-law of Elaine Zimmerman, Hooversville RD 1. He retired as distribution manager after 40 years from Sani-Dairy, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, where he served on the church council and various committees; Somerset Lodge I.O.O.F., Tall Pines Hunting Camp, and Stoystown Water Authority. He was president of the Odd Fellows Cemetery Association, Stoystown. He was a former Forbes School Board member and former director of Somerset County Memorial Park. He served in the Navy from 1946-48. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing at Grace Lutheran Church from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Walter J. Emswiler, assisted by Rev. Thomas H. Zimmerman, officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
