Zimmerman, 86, a lifetime resident of Berlin, died Oct. 18, 2007, at home. Born Dec. 3, 1920, in Berlin, a son of Harry and Clara Belle (Walker) Zimmerman. Preceded in death by parents and a daughter, Kathryn Ann. He was the last of seven siblings including Elizabeth Fisher, Dorothy Martz, Henry, Bertram, Donald and Richard Zimmerman. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former, Mary Lou Flick; daughter, Allison, at home; sons, Robert and wife, Laura, Fort Collins, Colo.; James and wife, Helen, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; George and wife, Susan, Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. He was a 1938 graduate of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School and a World War II and Korean Conflict veteran, where he served as a sergeant in the Army Corps of Engineers. He retired from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security in 1982. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, where he was a past president and treasurer. Member of the Berlin Lions Club, where he was a Melvin Jones Fellow, the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department for 60 years, Berlin VFW and American Legion, World War II Last Man's Club, Somerset County Old-timers' Baseball Hall of Fame and the Berlin Area Historical Society. Past president of Berlin Borough Council, past Noble Grand of Berlin IOOF Lodge and past director of Miller Memorial Building Committee. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. J. Denise Smelley and the Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating. Interment Berlin IOOF Cemetery. The fire company service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday and the Lions service will be held at 7p.m. Sunday. Graveside military rites by Berlin VFW and American Legion. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity UCC, P.O.
