Will of Jacob Helman from Somerset County Know all men by these presents that I, Jacob Helman, of Shade Township County of Somerset and State of Pennsylvania, farmer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made. And as to my worldly estate and all the property real and personal or mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease I devise, bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following to wit, First, my will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall by me executor hereinafter named be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient. I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Elizabeth Helman all my real and personal property to which I shall be entitled to at the time of my death, only what is hereinafter excepted, to have and to hold during her natural lifetime, then the real estate is to be given to Robert Zimmerman exclusively forever. I give and bequeath my stepson Robert Zimmerman a horse sleigh, one buggy and harness and a three year old horse and a saddle. And lastly I do nominate and appoint my wife Elizabeth Helman to be the executor of this my last will and testament and do not require her to give a bond nor make a final settlement as long as she remains my widow. In testimony where of I the said Jacob Helman have to this my last will and testament subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 11th day of of March one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three. Jacob Helman Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Jacob Helman as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness thereto.
