I Jacob Weigle of Stonycreek Tp. Somerset County State of Penn being of sound mind and in good health do make this my last will and testament. I give to my beloved wife Sarah the house and lot of furniture stores carpets and all that is in the house in the village of Shanksville and one cow and one hundred fifty dollars annually in payments from my son Hiram Weigle to 1897 and one hundred fifty dollars from David Weigle annually for 27 years as David Weigle my son is to have the home farm for $5,205.75 and is to have a deduction of Fifteen hundred dollars as advancement, and my daughter Mary is to have the sum of Fifteen hundred dollars of the first money as advancement and the balance of my effects are to be divided equally among my eleven children according to my book of advancement kept by me. I appoint my wife Sarah as my Executrix. March 29, 1883. Witness: Jacob Weigel {} signed C.A. Brant Mary Weigle Codicil made and added this 13 day of February 1885 my wife Sarah is to have the house and all the furniture in said house and all Judgments Notes Moneys and all my possessions & during her lifetime and after my death and her death then my children shall be made equal heirs in settlement. She may do with my effects as she pleases and shall so remain during her lifetime without being appraised & after her death then it shall be sold and accounted for to my heirs. Witness: Jacob Weigel {} signed C.A. Brant Mary Weigle Somerset County ss: On the 17th day of December AD 1885 before me, Charles E. Shafer, Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County aforesaid personally came C.A. Brant and Mary Weigle the subscribing witnesses to the will and codicil hereto attached who being duly affirmed according to law do say that they were present and saw and heard Jacob Weigel the testator sign seal publish pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument as and for his last will and testament and codicil and that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief: Affirmed & Subscribed to before me the date aforesaid C.A.
