All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm _______________________________________________ Transcribed from SAMPUBCO copy by Bruce Collier on January 19, 2004 Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania Will Book, Vol. 4, page 58 In the matter of the Will of Dyer Lathrop, deceased And now to wit, May 15th, AD 1876 was presented for Probate an instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Dyer Lathrop of the Township of Dimock in said County, deceased; and at the same time came C. C. Mills and George Simpson, the subscribing witnesses to the said instrument of writing, who, being duly sworn according to law, did say that they were present and saw and heard the said Dyer Lathrop sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the said instrument of writing , as and for his last will and testament, and at the time of his so doing, he was of sound and disposing mind and memory, to the best of their knowledge and belief. Therefore the said instrument of writing was admitted to Probate as fully proven to be the Last Will and Testament of the said Dyer Lathrop, deceased and is in the words following: Know all Men by these Present, that I, Dyer Lathrop of the Township of Dimock, in the County of Susquehanna and the State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, (hereby revoking all wills by me at any prior time made) in manner following, to wit: It is my will that all my just debts of every name and kind, shall be first discharged and fully paid, after which, in case of my decease before the rent due from Elijah Lathrop for the use of my farm which he now holds by virtue of a lease from me shall be fully paid, I give and bequeth the amount of said rent unpaid at the time of my decease unto my daughters Salina Tingley, Sophia Compton and Elizabeth Stevens, to be equally divided between them. And having in my lifetime advanced unto my son Elijah Lathrop and my daughter Sophia Compton, one cow each, I give and bequeth unto my daughters Salina Tingley and Elizabeth Stevens, each one cow of the value of fifty dollars each. And all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both person and real of whatever name or kind the same may be at the time of my decease, it is my will that the same and every part thereof shall be equally divided between my son, Elijah Lathrop and my three daughter aforesaid, to wit: Salina Tingley, Sophia Compton and Elizabeth Stevens share and share alike. And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint Miner G. Tingley, of the township of Dimock aforesaid, Executor of this my last Will and testament. Hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made. In witness hereof, I have here unto set my hand and seal this Fourteenth day of October AD 1870.
